HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Studio Chicago encourages broad participation, programs and insights from across Chicago's many art communities and from other interested community members. See details about program goals here. Individual artists, informal groups, schools and various kinds of organizations can participate through the following ways:

Propose a program for Studio Chicago review by the project’s Steering Committee. If the program meets the project’s goals, the program will be featured in the Studio Chicago website and the CAR Enews. You, the organizer, then become a Studio Chicago Program Partner and receive the Studio Chicago partner tool kit with the project’s logo and communication guidelines.

Click here for program application and guidelines.

Participate in the Studio Chicago online community website:
o        Comment on the blog.
o        Submit a Studio Story.
o        Upload a photo of your studio onto our flickr page.
o        Become a fan on Facebook.

Attend the many Studio Chicago programs this year and actively share your insights, knowledge and questions.

Post an event to the Chicago Arts Resource (CAR) website for an event listing in the Open Studio section of the Studio Chicago site. This un-curated section of the Studio Chicago website draws information from CAR’s listings and features all kinds of informal studio-related events across the city, such as open studios dates and studio building open houses. Click here for instructions.

A note to individual artists:

Studio Chicago encourages artists to participate by organizing programs jointly with other artists and/or with schools or arts organizations. An important aspect of Studio Chicago is to highlight and strengthen existing infrastructures and artistic communities while also promoting new ones.  Therefore, events organized by single artists and featuring only a single artist’s work will not be featured as part of Studio Chicago.
