threewalls summer thematic residency

July – Sept. 2010
119 N. Peoria
Gallery hours: tuesday to saturday, 11am-5pm

threewalls summer thematic residency program will be integrated into the Sullivan Galleries Summer Studio. Curated from an open application by Mary Jane Jacob, Michelle Grabner and Shannon Stratton, visiting artists Cauleen Smith and Adia Millett will live and work and Chicago across the threewalls and Sullivan Galleries programs in addition to collaborating with other Chicago artists and organizations.

Adia Millett will work on an ongoing installation and documentation practice while Cauleen Smith will begin a year-long research and film project on Sun-Ra as part of her ongoing work on jazz and American cities. Both projects will result in a post-residency document to be released in 2011.

During their residency, Millett and Smith will also present lectures, screenings and other one night events in conjunction with Sullivan Galleries and threewalls. Please visit the threewalls calendar for more information.
